I went back to Vietnam to see where I lived and how life is there. It was fun to go back to the Tam Binh orphanage I was in and see all the kids that are in there now. I hope the kids have happy futures but they may not. There was a two year old boy I met while playing with the children in a physical therapy room. We played and went down the slide and laughed. I miss him lots and wish I could adopt him.

Colby and the student he sponsored. |
It was neat to meet the kids we sponsor and visit their small homes. I got to meet some very talented and curious kids who handled bugs and eels with amazing skill. Kids followed me and Paul all around the town and loved getting their picture taken. Paul is an amazing person with a funny sense of humor. He means my life to me because he got me to the hospital when I was a baby just in time before I got too sick.
Vietnam was so different from America, especially the landscape and the water buffalo. People in Vietnam were very kind to us. They made tea and lunches for us with different tasting Vietnamese foods. I liked to eat new things.
I help sponsor kids each year by asking my family to donate money instead of getting me birthday gifts. I feel very thankful for my family. People should help the kids go to school because they are so poor and everyone needs an education. I do it because I want to help the kids from my country.
If you are sponsoring the Vietnam kids I appreciate it a lot.
Sincerely,
Colby
p.s. The breakfast buffet of soup and rice was awesome - my favorite!"
