DAKOTA AIR: The Christmas Show

Unique Christmas Shows to Bring Music, Family Fun to Fargo Theatre on December 3rd

A pair of celebrations to help get your holiday season off to a delightful start will take place at the Fargo Theatre on Saturday, December 3 as the regional live variety program Dakota Air: The Radio Show comes to downtown Fargo with two special Christmas editions.

At 1:00 p.m., children and the young-at-heart can enjoy Dakota Air: The Kids' Christmas Show - a special performance filled with sing-alongs, original stories, and long-loved children's songs. Youngsters will enjoy a new experience with an old-fashioned twist as they share time with The Mayor of Christmas Town, The Christmas Cowboy and His All-Elf Band, and Mrs. Claus. And although Santa himself is awfully busy this time of year, there have been unconfirmed reports that his North Pole office has been asking if the bench color for the Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Organ seat goes well with a "red suit."

At 7:00 p.m., Dakota Air: The Radio Show will present another unique Christmas show in old-fashioned radio-show format and filled with holiday music, lots of laughs, and a look at some history of Christmas in the Red River Valley. Dakota Air regulars will include host Merrill Piepkorn and the Radio Stars band, as well as humorist Steve Stark leading the Dakota Airheads Acting Troupe and offering a surprise-filled look back as "Mr. History" uncovers some little-known facts about local holiday lore.

Tickets for the 1 p.m. children's matinee are only $5. Tickets for the 7 p.m. show are $15. To purchase tickets, call Tickets300 at 800-514-3849 or 701-205-3182, or stop by their box office at 300 Broadway from Monday through Friday between noon and 6 p.m.

Dakota Air: The Radio Show is a variety show performed monthly to live audiences at different locations across North Dakota and neighboring states to entertain and inspire audiences by featuring talent from across the region while showcasing culture and history about each program's location.  Live shows are recorded for broadcast throughout each month across the entire Prairie Public radio network. Season-long corporate sponsors for Dakota Air are Basin Electric Power Cooperative, BNSF Railway, Gate City Bank, and North Dakota Farmers Union.

Kilbourne Group is providing additional support to help bring the holiday performances to downtown's historic Fargo Theatre. Prairie Public is the radio-broadcast partner.

Give with Courage.

Nothing You Do for a Child is Ever Forgotten.

Kilbourne Group supports Red River Children's Advocacy Center (RRCAC). We are grateful for the services they provide to children from our communities who are victims of neglect, physical abuse, and/or sexual abuse. This Thanksgiving season, there are hundreds of children right here in our communities that would be so thankful if a day passed by without getting hit, without being sexually abused. They would be so thankful just to feel safe.
