300 Broadway - oct 2010
Congratulations to Erbert & Gerbert's on Their One-Year Anniversary!

erbert_gerberts

It's been a year since Erbert & Gerbert's found a home at 300 Broadway. We recently spent a few minutes with Ted Horan, co-owner of the four local Erbert & Gerbert's franchises, and asked him a few questions about his 300 Broadway location.

Q. What's unique about the 300 Broadway Erbert & Gerbert's location?

A. The first thing that comes to my mind is the wide demographic we serve. Our lunch crowd is decidedly business, and of course the late night hours cater to those that take advantage of Broadway's night life. I think another unique component is how downtown events drive business.  We are used to a rather steady, very predictable business at our other locations. If there is a large event downtown, we feel it, and that's exciting.

Q. Who is your typical customer?

A. Our typical customer puts flavor first. Our customers are loyal and tend to visit us frequently. More so than other sandwich shops, people come to meet at our place, and they like our environment. At the same time, our customers appreciate the convenience of delivery.

Q. Do you get a lot of requests for catering?

A. Yes. We specialize in box lunches for meetings. The fact that we cater is certainly something we want more people to hear about; we are never too busy to take a last-minute catering order! We actually have a program called Lunch Leader. We created it because we noticed that several of our customers were ordering eight or more box lunches for a meeting in their office that they themselves were not participating in. So, participants in the Lunch Leader program receive their lunch free when they call in an order of eight or more box lunches. It's perfect for the person that orders for that last-minute board meeting or partner meeting. No more sitting on the sidelines eating lunch from home while co-workers feast on Erbs & Gerb's!

Q. What areas do you deliver to?

A. All of our F-M restaurants have a set delivery area. Our 300 Broadway location delivers downtown and up to NDSU.  We work hard to deliver sandwiches in less than 30 minutes, so we keep our territories manageable.

Q. What seems to be the most popular sandwich at your 300 Broadway location?

A. The Boney Billy (a turkey sandwich) is most popular, followed by the Girf (a ham sandwich). However, we are serving a great new sandwich call the Spartan that is selling well. It includes deli sliced chicken, cherrywood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, peppadew mustard, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Delicious!

Q. That does sound delicious! Anything else you want to add?

A. Yes! In celebration of our one-year anniversary at 300 Broadway, we're offering the 300 Broadway favorite, the Boney Billy, for FREE! To get a free Boney Billy (a delicious turkey breast sandwich with tomato, lettuce, Hellmann's mayo and sprouts), original recipients of this newsletter simply need to bring in a copy of it. The offer is good Friday, October 15, through Friday, October 22, at our 300 Broadway location only.

Q. Wow; what a deal! Thanks, Ted! And happy anniversary again!

A. Thanks, and thanks to all of our customers for a great first year!

Portfolio Seminar this Friday @ Art Materials

 tim mullen

Tim Mullen is the founder and owner of Pina Zangaro portfolios, the world's largest manufacturer of premium presentation products for commercial artists and design professionals. He speaks regularly at conferences and academic institutions around North America, and on Friday, he'll speak at Art Materials in downtown Fargo!

Mr. Mullen's presentation will not be about the Pina Zangaro brand in particular, but rather about the options artists and design professionals have for presenting their work, including portable digital media, online media, and various printed media. His presentation will also cover strategies for artists and design professionals to get their foot in the door, manage an interview, and do follow up. The goal of the presentation is to give audience members the tools and confidence they need to go out and compete effectively in a crowded marketplace for artistic and design services.

The presentation will be offered at three different times:  9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. on Friday, October 15 at Art Materials, located at 300 Broadway in downtown Fargo. RSVP by calling Art Materials at 701-232-0123. Presentation attendees will receive an additional discount on portfolio purchases.
