It's July.. so the downtown Street Fair Must Be Soon!

If you mention the month of July to many from Fargo and the surrounding area, they immediately think of the downtown Fargo Street Fair.  2010 marks the 35th year for this annual event, and it continues to grow each and every year.

Records from the 1st downtown Fargo street fair which was held in 1975, indicate that only a dozen or so vendors participated, and the fair covered only 1 block on Broadway, from 1st Ave. to 2nd Ave.  This year's street fair will have over 260 artist & craft booths, plus over 40 food vendors (located in the Food Court on 2nd Ave.) and will span Broadway from Main Ave. up to 6th Ave. North.  These vendors travel from as far away as California, Florida and Missouri to participate in the downtown Fargo Street Fair. In addition, many Downtown businesses and restaurants will also feature Street Fair sales and specials. Attendance for the 2010 three-day event is expected to be between 120,000 to 150,000 people.  Wow!  So exciting to see the growth of this annual downtown Fargo tradition!

So mark your calendars today, and plan to attend the annual Fargo Downtown Street Fair.
