Harris Neck Refuge Discovery Day
Come spend the day with Refuge staff and volunteers celebrating the 50th anniversary of the of the establishment of Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge.

Learn about the Junior Refuge Manager Program which was initiated last year at Savannah NWR and is now being introduced to Harris Neck. The program gives children an opportunity to earn a Harris Neck NWR iron-on patch and a Junior Refuge Manager badge by completing activities about wildlife, wildlife habitat, and the history of the refuge and refuge system. Friends Group Annual Membership Meeting
Join the Friends Group for our 4th Annual General Membership Meeting at the Savannah NWR Visitor Center. We'll share an afternoon of fellowship, elect Board of Director members, and hear the annual Friends group and Refuge Complex reports. As a special treat, we've arranged for Giff Beaton to be our guest speaker. Giff has been observing and photographing nature around the world for almost 30 years. He is the senior author of the Annotated Checklist of Georgia Birds, and the author of Birding Georgia and The Dragonflies and Damselflies of Georgia and the Southeast.

Giff has led bird tours across North America for over 10 years and has been on the state Bird Record Committees for both Georgia and South Carolina. He is an informative and entertaining speaker not to be missed.

Family Fun Day at Savannah NWR
Join the Refuge Staff and volunteers for a day of fun at the Savannah NWR Visitor Center. Lots of activities are being planned for kids of all ages. After the organized fun, take a relaxing tour of the refuge by car, bike, or on foot. Be sure to bring the kids and your cameras.

Earth Day at Forsyth Park, Savannah
Join us again this year as the Friends group and US Fish & Wildlife Service staff help Savannah celebrate Earth Day 2012, in beautiful Forsyth Park, the heart of historic Savannah, GA.Come by our booth and say hello, or plan to stay and help educate the many visitors who stop by about the importance of our coastal refuges and the National Wildlife Refuge system.
