Friday Evening with Teddy Roosevelt:
DATE: Friday, October 7th, 2011 TIME: 7-9 PM LOCATION: Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn, Hilton Head Island, SC. DETAILS: Joe Wiegand tours the country reprising our 26th president, Teddy Roosevelt. He will appear in character as "TR", the founder of the National Wildlife Refuge System. Admission is free to Friends members, but due to limited seating, reservations are required. You may join or renew your membership at the door. Saturday at Savannah National Wildlife Refuge:
DATE: Saturday, October 8th, 2011
Time: 9 AM - 4 PM
Location: Savannah NWR Visitor Center, Hwy 17, Hardeevilee, SC
Details: A full day of activities is planned for kids and adults alike, including three presentations by "TR" (at 11AM, 1PM, and 3PM), guided nature hikes, and an open-air guided wagon ride. Sunday on the Savannah River:
Date: Sunday, October 9th, 2011
Time: 1 PM - 4 PM
Location: The Georgia Queen Riverboat, River Street, Savannah, GA
Details: We have teamed with Savannah Riverboat Cruises to offer a special treat - a three-hour cruise up the Savannah River into the Savannah NWR with performances by "TR" (Joe Wiegand) and presentations by F&WS staff. The cruise is open to the public, but we have secured tickets which will be distributed to Friends group members on a first-come, first-served basis. Individual members may request one free ticket, Family members may request two tickets. Additional tickets are available for $15 each (to a maximum of 4 tickets per membership). On-board kids activities are planned.
These are cruise only tickets and do not include the buffet lunch (which you may purchase separately). Once these tickets are gone, you may purchase tickets from the Savannah Riverboat Cruises website at their regular price. Call 843-784-2468 for details and to make your reservations, or click HERE .
