Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive Reopening Postponed

Say it ain't so...
Today, May 19th, 2011, the staff of the US Fish & Wildlife Service was informed by the US Army Corps of Engineers that the Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive at Savannah NWR would NOT be ready for public use on June 4th, 2011.   The Service had previously been informed by the Corps that the year-long repair project would be completed and the Drive open by that date.

The Service and your Friends group organized a number of activities on June 3rd and 4th in celebration of the reopening.  These activities have been cancelled.  We hope this has not inconvenienced any of you.

Watch your e-mail for news about the new opening date.
