Thanksgiving is an occasion to celebrate with friends and family, reflect on the fortunes of the previous year, and consider the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.
2009 has been a momentous year for the Friends group. Starting with a small organizing committee at the beginning of the year, we now have over 200 members and an active and dedicated Board of Directors. We look forward to more growth and success in the year ahead as we approach the opening date for the Savannah NWR Visitor Center on March 6, 2010.
Much work awaits us, but I am confident that we are up to the task and that our membership has talent, energy, and enthusiasm in abundance to achieve even more in the years ahead.
