Thinking About Getting Lash Extensions?  Take Beba's Lash-pert Advice!

There is a whole slew of salons across the states currently performing the service of lash extensions.  Prices range from extremely cheap (worth the risk?) to extravagantly expensive (worth the splurge?).  We understand that not everybody can make it down Los Angeles to get Beba's coveted lash extensions, so we decided whip up a guide of what to look for and what to expect when you decide to gussy up your winkers.

1.  LASH EXTENSIONS ARE PAIN FREE.

Often times i have clients come in for "fix it" jobs.  Often they report that they experienced irritation and pain during and after their original service.  Ladies, my clients fall asleep while I work and report not even feeling the extensions once applied.  Lashes should feel light and like your own!  Any discomfort is a huge sign of bad work.

2.  LASHES SHOULD BE INDIVIDUAL.  ONE NATURAL LASH TO ONE EXTENSION.

Lash extension glue is STRONG.  It is not made to be used with sprigs.  It is also not made to touch the skin.  Lash extensions MUST be glued one natural lash to ONE extension.  If more than one natural lash gets glued together, your lashes will incur damage.  No two lashes grow at the same rate, and the faster lash will gradually pull out the slower lash.  This creates irritation (often times confused with an allergic reaction), and eventually lash loss.

3.  BE REALISTIC

If you have very fine short lashes, you will not walk out looking like Kim Kardashian.  Your lashes have to be able to carry the weight of the extension.  Otherwise, lashes will twist and look very strange.  Still, even with fine, short lashes, a skilled technician can make a world of a difference.  It's important that you and the technician are realistic with your goals!

4.  SPEED, NOT GLUE MAKES THE LASHES LOOK FULL

I often times see that technicians try to use an enormous amount of glue to make the lashes look fuller.  This results in a caked mess!  When every lash is covered with an extension, your lashes will look full.  It might take a bit more patience, but your peepers will be pleased!

5.  COST IS NOT AN INDICATOR OF WORTH

Now that you have a list of what to look for, check out your potential lash extension place on a customer review sight such as yelp.  There is no better way to find out the quality of work than from people that have experienced it for themselves!

We hope your endeavor to make your eyes lashtastic is a successful one!

When done correctly, lashes can really be a great addition for many different types of people.  I see many types: mothers on the go, athletes, models, and people that just don't feel like putting mascara on everyday.  Looks can range from extremely natural to very dramatic. Be clear about what you want, and I'm sure you'll be able to find a technician that will deliver!
