How to Count Entries & Top Teacher Points |
This year we have some changes on how Pro/Am entries and Top Teacher Points are calculated. For full details, visit the rules and regulations page on our website. Here's the "Reader's Digest" version ... As in past years, a first place single dance entry gets 8 points, second place gets 7, with 8th place receiving 1 point. Add 1 point for each and every recall.
Points Counting:
Points are DOUBLED for all Pro/m Multi-Dance events. So that means that 1st place gets 16 points ... and 8th place gets 2 points. Recall rounds are worth 2 extra points.
Entries Counting:
Single dances count as 1 entry. Multi-dance and closed scholarship count as 2 entries. Open scholarship events count as 3 entries. |

THE CHICKEN DANCE RETURNS!
Since it was so much fun last year, we are going to repeat the Chicken Dance Championship again in July! So kids, get ready to do The Chicken!
POLKA CONTEST
This year we are also having a Polka Contest. For those youth who want to participate, be sure to practice up on your Polka!
NEW CATEGORY FOR NEWCOMERS...
We've added a "Rising Star" category for newcomers who aren't quite ready to be judged or are hesitant to compete. This event will help them become accustomed to being on the competition floor and each will receive a participation award.

This year we are giving awards to Top Junior Couple and Top Three Junior Studios! |
Breakfast Under the Stars |
Our most popular dining experience. After the Saturday evening ballroom events, nearly 150 attendees will gather at The Pointe to dine under the Palm Desert night sky. We offer a fantastic breakfast buffet in a fun and casual atmosphere. Relax with your dance friends old and new, re-live the evening's events or simply enjoy the star-studded desert sky.
Don't miss this fun event. Buy tickets today! |
