Aid & International Development Forum (AIDF)
Earlier this month TIDES exhibited at the Aid and International Development Forum (AIDF) from 6-7 June at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to both advertise the TIDES program to the development community as well as network with some very interesting people and organizations. Special thanks to the AIDF organizers who put on a great event.

RAPIDS Training at Pacific Disaster Center (PDC)
 | Pacific Disaster Center |
TIDES participated in Risk Assessment, Planning, & Incident Decision Support (RAPIDS) training at the Pacific Disaster Center (PDC) located at their satellite office in Washington, D.C.
The center specializes in mapping global hazards (not just Pacific Rim) in near-real time updates on their global mapping platform. The platform currently operates using ESRI techonology and Adobe Flash. Their Disaster Alerts are available to the general public. Subscribers to the notification service can select to receive alerts according to hazard type, severity, and geographic region.
