Haiti: Lessons Learned

The following stories highlight some of the success stories and lessons learned from the earthquake in Haiti.

Collaboration and Information Sharing in Haiti
This story highlights the extrordinary efforts of various organizations, public and private, commercial and non-profit, from around the world, who collaborated in exceptional ways to provide information, bring help quickly to Haitians, and to support operational requirements. Development of the SMS 4636 Code for Haiti Relief
In response to the earthquake in Haiti, many organizations and individuals collaborated to create a short message system (SMS) code that allowed for the exchange of short text messages between mobile phones and related devices. The SMS 4636 code helped to provide information and bring help more quickly to the Haitian people. Highlights From West  2010TIDES BOOTH

Last month TIDES attended the AFCEA/USNI West 2010 conference in San Diego, CA. Overall, the show was a huge success. We made lots of great contacts highlighting key solutions and contributions from people working in the field and we spread the word about the TIDES project. One of the highlights from West 10, was when ADM James G. Stavridis, Commander, U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) and NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) specifically mentioned the TIDES project during his address.
