Camp Roberts Demonstrations (Nov 10-14)
Expanded GIS and UAV Integration
TIDES has just completed an expanded demonstration of GIS and UAV integration for field operations at Camp Roberts in San Miguel, California. The demonstration was a success due to the collaborative effort of a group of civilian and military organizations comprised of: Sahana, Open Mobile Consortium, InSTEDD, San Diego State University Visualization Lab, Open Solutions Group, Inc, Synergy Strike Force, Unthinkingly.com and the National Defense University.
The demonstrations addressed 3 major challenges to building a common operating picture:
1. Making effective use of aerial imagery. 2. Exploring new methods for field data collection. 3. Developing systems for integrating streams of
information.
