Greetings Open Door Art Studio Fans!

We are crossing our fingers here at Open Door that the warmer weather is here to stay and that April will be free of snow flurries.  We encourage you to stroll around Grandview and stop in to view our artwork at a variety of locations: Out of the studio's gallery, the Grandview location of Aladdin's eatery and the Grandview Library.  Some truly impressive works have been made recently as Open Door artists hone their skills and find their artistic voices.  Read on to hear about the latest and greatest from the studio.

The room lights up when Susie walks in.  She adds a great energy to the studio and her laughter is infectious.  Oddly, she says her favorite color is purple because it is "nice and cool", but "bright and sunny" seems more fitting to her personality.  Susie's sketchbooks are filled with lots of interesting line drawings and pastel shapes.  She is not afraid of getting messy when it comes to making art (check out those blue hands!).

Susie's prolific body of drawings have shown a lot of progress during her time at Open Door.  She attends the program with her sister Rosie and they are quite a pair.  Look for Rosie's feature article in the future.  Although the sisters are related, they are each unique artists with different interests and styles.  When Susie is not in the studio giggling and creating, she likes to take walks and watch television.  We have no doubt that a bit more laughing is involved as well.
