In November 2008, the move update expanded to include standard mail. The grace period is over and penalties will now be imposed for non compliance.
Velocity has been compliant with NCOA (National Change of Address) processing since November 2008.
New Postal Penalties
Non-compliant standard mail will be assessed an additional seven cents per piece for the entire mailing.
Non-compliant first class mail will result in a reclassification of the mail piece to the single-piece rate, regardless of the rate originally claimed (presorted, automation, or carrier route). This means that all postage discounts could be lost for an entire mailing. |
