President's Message

Stella DuPont

Stella DuPont

Greetings!

March has a few themes: Rushing winds, the Ides of March, and March Madness. You may think of nature, Shakespeare (and George Clooney), or basketball but Sacramento Coaches is totally focused on the fact that MARIA NEMETH is speaking at our March meeting! You don't want to miss it!

Sacramento Coaches continues to bring positive change for the benefit of all professional coaches. After more than a year of trying to find a venue that is available, professional, and centrally located we are pleased (and proud) to announce our venue for March and beyond will be at the Academy for Coaching Excellence (1900 Point West Way, Suite 122, Sacramento). This marks the beginning of a new partnership that is both self-evident and exciting!

We are close to launching our new website which will be fresher, friendlier, and drive business to our members.

We've refined our mission to reflect our dual focus, supporting coaches and promoting professional coaching in our community.

We continue to try to make our meetings interesting by bringing in great speakers, staying interactive and keeping our networking going and growing!

As always, we listen to you! Please contact me with any ideas, concerns or questions and I answer them to the best of my ability. If I don't know the answer I will find out. See you at the next meeting!

Go SCA!

Highlights

2012 ICF Global Coaching Study
Hopefully you participated in the 2012 Global Coaching Study, but if not, we hope you will enjoy a summary of the results below which focus
on the current state of the coaching industry-highlighting the coaching profession's growth and uncovering new trends since the 2007 survey:

12,133 coaches from 117 countries responded (the 2007 study had responses from 5,415 coaches from 73 countries).

The profession is growing, with an estimated 47,500 professional coaches generating close to $2 billion (USD) in annual revenue/income.

North America, Western Europe, Australia and Asia account for 76 percent of the estimated global total of professional coaches.

New markets for coaches and coaching are opening in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Coaches are looking confidently to the future, with expectations over the next 12 months of increasing demand (clients and sessions) leading to growth in annual revenue and income from coaching.

Key issues for the future:
1) Encouraging professional training for coaches;
2) Increasing awareness of coaching benefits; and
3) Regulation of the coaching profession.
