You may remember, I opened the academic year with my vision for the college's future (pdf). Below are some of the college's recent achievers and achievements that are helping to make these "dreams" reality.

• We began the semester with one of the highest student enrollments in recent memory-3,705 students! We closed applications-something heretofore unprecedented!
• A leadership and civic engagement initiative was inaugurated:  What's Your Passion?" During our first annual Community Action Day, 70+ students rolled up their sleeves to paint, clean, and clear (to name a few) for a variety of local non-profit organizations.
• The President's Society dinner was a huge success, particularly as it featured two of our "What's Your Passion" projects: Semester in the South and the Haiti Relief Program.
• The College continues to decrease its carbon footprint. I recently joined my fellow college presidents in signing the SEED (Sustainability Education and Economic Development) commitment.
• We are right on track with our strategic plan and continue to do good things, including some major facilities enhancement to the Allied Health Building, the Center for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture, and the Student Leadership Center.  Recently, we revised our strategic plan in order to continue with SUNY strategic plan goals. Our revised plan includes accomplishments -  I encourage you to review it.
  

I sincerely feel we are on our way to reaching our "Beyond Five" ambitions.
