Greetings!
This issue is filled with celebration--looking back at the ILA convention (where we celebrated listening while gathering with friends, old and new), celebrating poetry in this moment, as April is National Poetry Month, and looking forward to a celebration of picture books next month during National Picture Book Week! |

National Poetry Month
National Poetry Month is a celebration of poetry established by the Academy of American Poets in 1996.If you're looking for poetic ways to celebrate, visit the latest blog at My Pad: 13 Ways to Celebrate National Poetry Month. Here in South Florida... Broward County Poet-In-Residence, Anastasia Clark, has organized a project that will display local poetry on the walls of 12 libraries throughout the county. I contributed three poems to this project and will be sharing them, along with other participating contributors, at her "All About Broward" reading events. Visit my Events page for dates, times and participating libraries.

On Listening: "More than what we say or do, the way we are expresses what we think it means to be alive. So the articulate parent is less a telling than a listening individual." - Polly Berrien Berends
