NATIONAL POETRY MONTH
The Academy of American Poets, the group that established National Poetry Month, compiled a
list of " 30 ways to Celebrate." Some of my favorite suggestions are to put poetry someplace unexpected, get some chalk and write a poem on the pavement, attend a poetry reading, read a poem (yours or your favorite poet's) at an open mike, and celebrate Poem in Your Pocket Day on April 30 by carrying a poem for the day and sharing it with friends family and coworkers. If you've never written a poem of if it's been years, this is a great time to play. Join the celebration--write a poem and share it with someone you love! |

POETRY ONLINE
I'll be uploading more poems soon to youtube and recording a few others for upcoming blogs. If you look through my website, you'll find a few recordings that can be downloaded free. Soon I'll be organizing my site so that free downloads will be easy to find! The poem on my most recent blog, Two Poets (reprinted from my collection, The Human Experience), is about the poetry of two lives entwined. After all, life is a work of art, and nothing is more beautiful than collaborating with someone special. :)

POETRY READINGS
UPCOMING READING MAY 2, 2009:
I'll be reading at THE SPIDER WEB in Dania, FL on May 2 from 7:30 pm - 9 pm. The venue is a funky new age store and also a tea shop with snacks, and it's run by Sam and Debi, two of the coolest folks in town. It's a fun place and I hope if you're in the area you can come by and join us! (More readings coming soon!)(Click here to receive an e-mail reminder the last week in April!) |
