  smokin Your "Smokin" Good News

PIPE QUOTES:

"Smoke. Smoke. Smoke. Only a pipe distinguishes man from beast."
Honere Daumier

"The pipe marks the point at which the orangutan ends and man begins."

Ben Jonson

PIPE POETRY

The pipe with solemn interposing puff,

Makes half a sentence at a time enough;

The dozing sages drop the drowsy strain,

Then, pause and puff and speak, and pause again.

 William Cowper

MY PIPE

When love grows cool, thy fire still warms me;

When friends are fled, thy presence charms me.

If thou art full, though purse be bare,

I smoke and cast away all care!

German Smoking Song

 Hi Everyone,                             new years

I would like to start by wishing everyone a very Happy New Year.

I had a wonderful vacation but it's good to be back. We went to sunny California for the Holiday Bowl. We showed up but unfortunetly the team ( Uof A ) did not. To make matters worse it rained and rained throughout the whole game. The good news is the next day the sun came out in true California tradition and made for a beautiful New Years Eve and New Years day. I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday and New Years and if you need some sunshine just let me know. I am in Arizona and have plenty to share.

I would like to thank our Pipe Maker of the month, Jean du Toit. Jean is my first International Pipe Maker of the month, he is from South Africa. His article was great and showed his wonderful sense of humor. If you did not visit his web site, here is the link: www.pietenpauw.co.za It is a wonderful site truly worth seeing.

Congratulations

To our 2009 Christmas Pipe winner:

Corey Brown of DeKalb, IL.

I'd like to give recongnition to Larry Greengard a new pipe maker in California. His wife sent me some pipe pictures of his pipes and the brick work he detailed on one of the them, certainly inspired me to request the chimney look, found on our Christmas Pipe. Thank you Larry for the inspiration.
