15St. Louis County Court Rules in Favor of the FOP again for Collective Bargaining!

For the second time in as many years a St. Louis County Circuit Judge has ruled in favor of members of FOP Lodge #15 members when faced with opposition from local governements with regard to following the direction of the State Supreme Court in Independence NEA vs. Independence School District.  This is the landmark case that gave all public employees the right to be recognized and to bargain collectively over wages, benefits, & conditions of employment.

The first ruling came against the city of Jennings on July 24th, 2008.

The latest ruling came against the City of Chesterfield on April 22nd, 2009.

- FOP Organizer to work in Missouri -

FOP StarOn April 25th, 2009 Missouri FOP President Ahlbrand and Vice President Inglima met with members of the National FOP Labor Services Division.  The purpose of the meeting was to establish a starting point for an FOP Organizer to start working in Missouri.

The National FOP will be providing an experienced FOP member from the Labor Services Staff to assist us with recruting and organizing individual collective bargaining units for exclusive representation.  The Labor Services Representative is Bill Worter.  Bill is an experienced officer and FOP member who is retired from Randolph, NJ.  During his time with the FOP he spent many years as the New Jersey State Lodge President.  His experience in organizing and motivating our members will be invaluable in increasing our numbers beyond the 5,300 officers currently represented by the Missouri FOP.

Bill will start working Missouri in late May, right before the kick off of our Basic Collective Bargaining class.  He will be here for a couple weeks at a time each visit and will start in the Kansas City Metropolitan area.  Please be ready to provide him with help in every way possible when he calls in your area.

We will provide more information about Brother Worters visit in the near future.
