| Climate Commission Makes Recommendations
One more reason for transit!
The Governor's Commission on Climate Change, established under Executive Order 59, met for its final meeting, adopting recommendations that need to be taken to achieve a green house gas (GHG) emissions reduction goal of 30 percent by 2025 (2000 levels). A finding from the Commission, highlighting the importance of Virginia's role, is that "GHG emissions from just six southeastern states (Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee) are greater than all but six countries in the world... more
