This newsletter is developed by the leadership team of the Comprehensive Campaign, "Sharing His Vision - More Than We Can Imagine".

"Where Your Treasure Is" is an email devotional from the CCCC office to your inbox on the 15th of every month, to remind us of biblical principles of stewardship.  This initiative was launched because our Lord has said much about Stewardship, and all His people are to be listening.  I hope you find these devotionals helpful.   If you do, feel free to forward this publication to others, inviting them to join our mailing list to receive it directly in the future.  If you do not wish to receive this monthly devotional an unsubscribe link is provided on the bottom of this page. Today's devotional focuses on the connection between giving and love, and God's exhortation that like Christ His disciples would aim for this holy combination.

How's your spiritual life? What is the state of your walk of faith? How real is your love of Jesus?

The answer to all these questions is found in your checkbook. How you spend your money reveals the state of your soul.  I know this sounds hard but look at ESV Luke 12:34 "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Isn't this what Jesus is saying? Your treasure follows your heart and vice versa. So if one looks at my checkbook they can get a pretty clear idea of what is important to me.

Cognitive dissonance is a psychological term describing when a person's actions are not in agreement with their belief system. When what I do varies from what I say I believe a dissonance or difficulty arises within me.  From the world's point of view the dissonance is always resolved in favor of the actions. My beliefs will give way to the actions I have chosen to take. I then begin the process of rationalization to make my beliefs fit my actions. I justify my actions by changing what I believe.

The good news is that by grace we can bring consonance to our life. The Holy Spirit at work in the children of God brings beliefs and action into agreement. When we truly live by faith, our Lord brings complete consistency in every aspect of our lives. What we say is confirmed by what we do and how we live. If that be the case then anyone looking at my checkbook will see my consistent, faithful, sacrificial love of Christ. They will see that I am willing "to put my money where my mouth is."

God is doing a new thing in the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference. He has called us to step out in faith and be more intentional in doing the ministry entrusted to us. He invites us to complete the works He has called us to. This results in the necessity of consistent funding. You know that a workman is worthy of his hire. You know that completing these works requires diligent workmen laboring long and hard for the Kingdom's advancement. We have begun this process and have appealed to the brothers and sisters of the CCCC to supply what is necessary to complete what God has called us to do.

Our appeal is called "Sharing His Vision, more than we could imagine." It is a comprehensive campaign to fund all aspects of our Conference ministry over the next five years. The goal is to raise five million dollars over the next five years. We have begun well, many have responded in faith. We now need all the family to participate in what God has called us to do.

We are asking that your checkbook reveal the depth and power of your love for Christ. Your tithe belongs to your local congregation. But your gifts can be directed to support Christ's ministry wherever He leads.

We are asking that you pray about your faithful stewardship. We are asking to verify that what you say you believe is demonstrated by what you do or how you spend your money. To do so will result in perfect peace. If your mind is stayed on Christ then your checkbook will prove it. Then you will be a faithful steward. Then the Kingdom of God will advance through the ministry of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference.  Will you join us?
