A GIFT OF SUMMER SLEEP AWAY CAMP FOR CLIENT FAMILIES IN NEED |
Lots of young people in our area head off to camp each summer. But for children from our client families, such an enriching experience can be financially out of reach. Thanks to the efforts of two of our Board members, the Center has been able to make summer camp opportunities available. This year, fifteen youngsters from client families are attending sleep away camps in New Hampshire and Maine. For two of the girls, summers at camp have led to summer jobs as counselors at The Summer Camp in Bridgton, Maine. And for all the Center's campers, unforgettable memories for a lifetime. |

Local Farmers and Community Gardens Stock Food Pantry with Fresh Vegetables
|
 | | Chloe Murray helps with a delivery of fresh produce |
During the summer months, the Center's Food Pantry seems more like a small local market and fruit stand, thanks to the bounty of produce donated by local farmers. From local organic farms to community gardens, area growers are bringing fresh, nutritious foods to our pantry-- healthy fare for our clients. Thank you farmers and gardeners. |

Summer Brings Teenage Volunteers to the Center |
Center Volunteers come in all ages and stages of life. But during the summer months, the Center benefits from an influx of teenagers: high school and college students giving some of their vacation time to the Center. All our volunteers are full of enthusiasm, but our summer teens bring a special dose of energy and verve to the Center. Many teens keep in touch throughout the year and we look forward to welcoming them back next summer. Thanks kids!
