Volunteer Angel

Paul Bissonette

Paul Bissonette knows how to keep the food donations rolling in. Paul coordinates Community Center outreach for St. Paul's Chapel, Vista, a small church with a big heart. St. Paul's is part of St. John's Episcopal Parish, South Salem, a Community Partner, and Paul organizes and delivers monthly food donations from St. Paul's. He even calls each month to get an update on the Center's  specific food needs. Thanks Paul. You're an angel!

A GIFT OF SUMMER SLEEP AWAY CAMP
FOR CLIENT FAMILIES IN NEED
Boy Ready for Summer CampLots of young people in our area head off to camp each summer. But for children from our client families, such an enriching experience can be financially out of reach. Thanks to the efforts of two of our Board members, the Center has been able to make summer camp opportunities available. This year, fifteen youngsters from client families are attending sleep away camps in New Hampshire and Maine. For two of the girls, summers at camp have led to summer jobs as counselors at The Summer Camp in Bridgton, Maine. And for all the Center's campers, unforgettable memories for a lifetime.Loading the Bus for Summer Camp

Delivering Fresh Produce
Chloe Murray helps with a delivery of fresh produce
During the summer months, the Center's Food Pantry seems more like a small local market and fruit stand, thanks to the bounty of produce donated by local farmers. From local organic farms to community gardens, area growers are bringing fresh, nutritious foods to our pantry-- healthy fare for our clients. Thank you farmers and gardeners.Local Produce at the Center Food Pantry

Summer Brings Teenage Volunteers to the Center

Summer Teen VolunteersSummer Center VolunteerCenter Volunteers come in all ages and stages of life. But during the summer months, the Center benefits from an influx of teenagers: high school and college students giving some of their vacation time to the Center. All our volunteers are full of enthusiasm, but our summer teens bring a special dose of energy and verve to the Center. Many teens keep in touch throughout the year and we look forward to welcoming them back next summer. Thanks kids!
