"The absence of God's holy Law from modern preaching is perhaps as responsible as any other factor for the evangelistic impotence of our churches and missions. Only by the light of the law can the vermin of sin in the heart be exposed... It is imperative that preachers of today learn how to declare the spiritual Law of God; for, until we learn how to wound consciences, we shall have no wounds to bind with gospel bandages."

Awesome Videos: Students Counteract Anti-Christian Ideologies on Campus with Gospel Preaching!

"America's colleges and universities,
once bastions of free thought, too often today are oppressive centers
of intellectual conformity."
-Roger Pilon, Vice President for Legal Affairs, Cato Institute
Will Creeley, Director FIRE, and guest speaker to CCN's "Exercise your Freedom" outreach. CCN has refused to allow institutions of higher education to stop them from boldly proclaiming their faith. In fact, CCN Leaders and members are proactively hosting events where the gospel is clearly presented to the campus student body. Watch these videos and be encouraged, the gospel continues to prevail! Watch Tiffany reason with the MSU students about their eternity!
 Montclair State University, NJ: Tiffany
and the team were able to have their first official outreach event this
month at MSU! CCN invited a representative of the Foundation for
Individual Rights in Education ( FIRE),
to apprise the student body on their rights protected under the First
Amendment. The gospel was also proclaimed in a clear,
easy-to-understand, biblical way in both the beginning of the program
and at the end! Visit CCN MSU at www.ChangeMSU.blogspot.com. Watch David preach Truth from the front of the liberal college classroom!
David Salcedo, our newest Campus Leader at Davenport University in
Michigan, seized the opportunity to preach the gospel in his Public
Speaking class by delivering a speech about the purpose of CCN. His class was so receptive to the gospel, that David even had an opportunity to share on a more personal level to students who approached him with spiritual questions. In case you missed it last month, CCN Leader at Midland Lutheran
College, Luke Cada, recently preached the gospel at his
college's talent contest. Luke's talent was to make the Bible make
sense from Genesis to Revelation in a short time. He was able to preach
the gospel message to about 300 attendees! While others wanted to win
the talent contest, he was only concerned about winning souls! Visit CCN MLC at www.ChangeMLC.blogspot.com
IUPUI, IN:
CCN in Indiana hosted an awesome event this past Thursday! After
receiving an apologetic lesson on Evolution during their previous
fellowship, the students invited the school to come watch the film
documentary, "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed!" by Ben Stein. After
the show, the CCN members led a discussion about the theory of
evolution and used the opportunity to preach the gospel to everyone who
attended. For more information, visit their blog at www.ChangeIUPUI.blogspot.com
Please pray that the Lord would open the hearts of the listeners to respond to the gospel as He did Lydia's at the preaching of Paul (Acts 16:14).

Campus Leader Article: At Least My Friend Has a Chance... Do Yours?
|
I was invited to go on a mystery golf tour bus trip by a group of
gentlemen that I have spent some time golfing with. The majority are retired, and come from a variety of faith/non faith backgrounds.
One fellow in particular was a staunch Catholic. He went to a major
Catholic university, played football there, was in the Knights of
Columbus, and was a major leader at his church. He was as much a Catholic
evangelist as one can be.
Anyhow, I had the privilege of golfing with this gentleman and traveling with
him in a cart. The round contained mostly competitive banter, coaching
and encouraging our team along. At the end of the round, I presented
each of my teammates with a Gospel of John, adorned on the cover with a
photo of a golf course. The other two politely thanked me, but my
cart-mate wanted to talk.
This man, he explained, was very interested in the Bible. He didn't
really know how to study it, though he and some of his friends studied
bi-monthly at the same time we hold our men's Bible study. He was truly
curious and wanted to find out what we do and how we do it. This led to
a 45 minute demonstration with gospel in hand about how we study, which
turned into a discussion of the differences in our belief about
justification. I began to explain the sacrificial
system which only covers sins temporarily and used John 1 to demonstrate Jesus as the Lamb of God
who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29). I compared these to the
sacramental system of the Catholic church. I then explained that we are
fully justified when we repent and place our faith in Christ (Romans 3:24-25), and that
as a result, we are free to serve Him and do good works, not for
salvation, but because we love Him.
My new friend left that cart, saying he never understood the
significance of the Lamb of God and the sacrifice of Christ like that before. He
promised to read the scripture, come to our study, and bring
his other Bible study mates to learn.
Tuesday morning came, and we waited for my new friend to show up. He
did not. Nor did his other mates. We had our study, prayed,
and parted ways. I was a little bothered, but chalked it up to
busyness. Wednesday morning, as I often do, I parsed the obituary
section of the paper. There was my friend's obituary; he had died Tuesday of a heart
attack. The paper said it was an 'unexpected' death.
We never know when people are going to die, that is one reason we
must take every opportunity to share the gospel with them. If I had spent the
entire day with this man, and not shared the Gospel with him, then read
this obituary, this would be a sad story. As it was, he was able to
hear that he was a sinner that needed justification, and that the
justification he needed was found only in Christ. I pray that he made
that decision; that he read John 3 like I encouraged him to do, that he
understood what it meant to be Born Again. As it is, I will not know
until I enter eternity. At least my friend has a chance. Do yours?
