Repent and Witness 2008: REMARKABLE!
|
The CHANGE Collegian Network
missions trip to New York City was phenomenal! The gospel was preached
on the subways, Penn Station, Battery Park, Times Square, and Union
Square Park. This 4-day event was packed with prayer, worship, Word,
fasting, witnessing, open-air preaching, and godly fellowship. There
were praise reports of people coming to repentance, marriages being strengthened, and Christians being stretched out of their comfort zone to minister to people from all different walks of life through one-to-one witnessing and open-air preaching!
Here is what some of the missionaries had to say about this experience...
"Repent
and Witness was awesome. I have never been so challenged and encouraged
to share the Gospel. I open-air preached for the first time and
it was something I'll never forget and hopefully that I'll never stop
doing." Kris E.
"I
am forever changed by this experience...I have a hunger and passion
for open air preaching that I never had before. I have been freshly
kindled by the Spirit of God and I have a deeper burden to see God glorified
through evangelism than ever before. I have never in my life experienced
such deep God honoring fellowship before. I have a deep love for
the Repent and Witness crew." Mitchel S.
"If
someone had told me last year that I was going to share the Gospel in
front of many strangers, I would have laughed. CCN changed that. When
I see the pictures, I still can't believe it was me open air preaching.
I am so humbled that God would choose to use quiet shy me. If he can
use me, he can use anybody! When I think about my experience at R&W
Camp, I am reminded of the Scripture that says God chooses to use the
foolish things of this world. I'm in awe. Glory be to God!" Michelle P.

| Ministry Update and Praise Reports! |
- Great news, David Salcedo has been approved to be the CCN Campus Leader at Davenport University in Saginaw, Michigan! Please pray for David and his campus mission field as he will be the first person to start a Christian organization on his campus. Welcome to the family, David!
Fundraising has been going well. A special thanks to those who are financially supporting Tiffany and Jonathan!
-
We have been working alongside Revelation Generation training the volunteers in biblical evangelism. The event was a complete success! We were given a free table to inform others of CCN and to preach the gospel! See article below for more!
-
CCN has been recognized as an official organization by most of our campuses. We are carefully planning for the new semester.
-
The Lord has opened many doors in the form of speaking engagements for both, Tiffany and Jonathan. This has blessed CCN and allowed us to reach out to Christians who only speak Spanish.
-
We were able to give away scholarships to 6 missionaries to attend our Repent and Witness Evangelism Camp held this Thursday Aug 7th through Monday the 11th!
Awarder to: (From left to right) Rashan, Ellen, Luke Contessa, Alex and Sylveria. Congratulations! |

Revelation Generation Music Fest

Simply a "hook" for the biblical gospel!
The effort that the owners of Rev Gen put into preaching the
gospel from numerous venues at the concert was phenomenal. What's more
is that they only used biblical gospel tracts - tons of them.
Throughout the day, numerous volunteers who Rev Gen made sure were
trained by CHANGE Collegian Network in biblical evangelism took
hundreds of tracts and handed them out all over the festival and
preached the biblical gospel. There were thousands and thousands of
tracts purchased by Rev Gen and the team leaders continued to give
orders to the volunteers to get those tracts out! Rev Gen is designed so that the
gospel can go forth from the main stages and from small tents where the
artists were expected to share their testimony (there was actually a
stipulation in their contract that bound them to sharing their faith at
the concert). I am so thankful to be a part of this ministry for these
purposes.
Since we trained their volunteers, Rev Gen kindly
gave us a free table in the vendor tent and we were able to preach the
gospel again at our table using a sign that read: 'Are You Going To
Heaven? Free Test'. So many people came and talked with us!
In
my own experience, I talked to unbelievers who came to hear the 'cross
over bands'. They are openly unconverted but like the bands and so they
came to the concert. I will never forget this one young man named
Johnny whose face was filled with contrition and thanked me genuinely
for sharing the truth with him. These are the people who Rev Gen tries
to attract and it is successful.
I pray more Christians
would be trustworthy of God and come out next year to join the other
soul winners in the trenches. If they want to know where false converts
and sinners gather, here is one of those places, and it is designed
that way so that the gospel can be preached freely 'on our turf'. So,
it makes preaching the message and starting a conversation about God
much easier.
Also, there were other provisions made for the
saints by Rev Gen, such as a Pastor's hospitality and prayer tent,
where trained ministers prayed for the leaders and the leaders were
able to receive counsel if needed. A pastor working that area said that
a lot of Pastors are in great need and some cases struggling with
serious issues. It is great that Rev Gen goes out of their way to help
these people. There was also a youth group leader training that was
extremely helpful and biblical, plus so much more! Rev Gen is so
multi-faceted and I know that it will keep growing, because the motives
of the owners are pure unto the Lord. I can testify to that.
Please keep praying for next year and come out to preach the gospel!

| Article: Salvation is of the Lord. Now, Go Get Them!
|
"But I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD." Jonah 2:9
You are not alone when preaching the gospel! It is God Himself who is actively doing a grand work in your life and in the hearts of the lost. Here's how:
His Work in You:
1. It is God who commands you to go and preach! "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15)
2. It pleases God to save people through your preaching! "For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." (1 Cor. 1:21)
3. God has placed the treasure of the gospel in you, who are made from the dust of the earth, to show his power! "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us." (2 Cor. 4:6-7)
His Work in the hearts of the lost:
4. Are you preaching to people who are dead in sin? Great! Remember God's words to the dry bones in Ezekiel, "Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live... then you shall know that I am the LORD." (Ezekiel 37: 5, 6c) You preach and God will give them life!
5. Are there idolaters around your area with hearts of stone? Awesome! Look at what God can do to them: "Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." (Ezekiel 36:25-26) You preach and God cleanses them from sin and makes them a new creature in Christ!
6. Has the Lord sent you to people who live in complete darkness? Then they need to hear the Lord's command to "let there be light:" "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." (2 Cor. 4:6-7)
There! God commands you to preach the gospel since it pleases Him to save people through your preaching because it magnifies his power! He knows that the condition of the people you were sent to is one of death, idolatry and darkness. Hence, obey, please and show the power of the Lord by preaching His gospel. He will be faithful in giving them life, cleansing them and making them new by showing them His glory in Christ.
You are not alone. Salvation is of the Lord. Now, go get them!
