New Synod Director for Evangelical Mission Named

Rebecca H. Kolowé has been called to serve as the Director for Evangelical Mission in the Southeastern Synod.  Rebecca is an ELCA Diaconal Minister with a passion for God's mission and the church. She has served overseas in Cameroon, West Africa as an ELCA missionary, and has congregational experience in faith formation, pastoral care, social ministry, community organizing, and advocacy and poverty ministries. Her most recent accomplishment was leading the development of a congregation-based 20-bed emergency homeless shelter in the suburbs of Philadelphia. She holds a master's degree in Islamic Studies from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. She is married to her husband Pierre, and they have a cat named Pandora.  Rebecca will be relocating from Pennsylvania and will begin her work on February 23rd.
