Lutheran Ministries of Alabama reports that they are currently working in conjunction with Alabama VOAD, FEMA, the Southeastern Synod Disaster Task Force, Lutheran Disaster Response, and the various churches and congregants affected by all of the storm damage. Lutheran churches in Alabama reporting damage are: Christ in Cullman (ELCA), whose building was totally destroyed by the tornado; Incarnation (ELCA) in Harvest, who had been worshiping in the chapel at Ford's Chapel United Methodist Church, which was also destroyed. LCMS churches reporting damage are Holy Cross and University in Tuscaloosa; Trinity in Hanceville; and St. Paul's in Cullman.

Assessment continues, and Sandra Braasch, Diaconal Minister and Synod Disaster Response Coordinator, reports that coordinated response efforts will begin shortly. Information is being gathered and the Disaster Response Task Force is developing a database of volunteers and supplies needed for donation.
