|

 Attention all men: Doug Haugen, Executive Director of Lutheran Men in Mission, ELCA, will be present at Reformation Lutheran Church, Greeneville, TN, on Sunday, October 4. Ethiopia Companion Synod Taskforce

 The ELCA-Southeastern Synod Ethiopia Companion Synod Taskforce invites pastors and lay leaders to join them on Tuesday, October 6, 6 pm at Redeemer in Atlanta to learn more about our growing ministry partnership with our brothers and sisters in East Africa.
We will hear stories from two recent trips and dream together about future possibilities for our relationship in Jesus Christ. Contact Pastor Brian Goke for questions at bgoke@redeemer.org.

Appalachian Heritage Sunday

we adopted  October 18 as Appalachian Heritage Sunday in the Southeastern Synod. If you would like to celebrate this in your congregation, resources are available from the Evangelical Lutheran Coalition for Ministry in Appalachia. GOLF TOURNAMENT

Pastor Rick Roberts has made arrangements for a golf tournament, to be held at the Etowah Valley Golf Club in Hendersonville, NC, on Wednesday afternoon, October 14, during the Leadership Convocation. Around the Synod
|
|
 The Rev. Noel Anderson, Companion Synod Chairperson for Malaysia and Singapore, lays hands on The Rev. Jimmy Khoo and his wife, Jennifer. The couple will serve in outer Mongolia as missionaries of the Lutheran Church in Singapore. Pr. Anderson served as an ELCA missionary for 32 years in Malaysia and Singapore. Pr. Anderson and his wife, Diane just returned from Singapore and Malaysia after a six-week stay in those countries. They also witnessed the dedication of the new six-story Lutheran Center in Malaysia.
 Congratulations to Sandra Braasch. She was approved the designation of "Mississippi Certified Emergency Manager" (MCEM) through the Mississippi Civil Defense/Emergency Management Association (MCDEMA) certification program. The MCEM designation is based on her work history in emergency management, MCDEMA membership and activities, training, and supporting material. The purpose of the certification program is to promote Emergency Management professionalism.
Cross & Crown Lutheran Church (Chamblee, GA) needs a couple of church pews for the remodeled narthex. They are willing to pay a nominal amount, but would greatly appreciate a donation. If you can help them out, please contact Pr. Gary Christensen at 770-571-4641 or revgaryc@comcast.net.
