| FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT | |
Last month we introduced you to some exciting changes happening here at the Y. We told you about our three areas of focus: For Youth Development, For Healthy Living and For Social Responsibility. Because you are an important part of our organization, we want to share with you the meaning behind each of the focus areas.
Behind "For Youth Development" is our belief that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. The values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for life. At the Y, children and teens learn positive values and behaviors and can explore their unique talents and interests, helping them realize their potential. That makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow. |
| FAMILY FALL FESTIVAL | |
Join us 6:30 - 8:30 pm on Friday, October 29th, 2010 for the Family Fall Festival here at your Y.
Kids up to age 12 wear non-scary costumes to the YMCA, enjoy games, face painting, tattoos, and trick or treating. Other activities include a Moonwalk, obstacle course, arts and crafts, music and dancing, costume contests, popcorn and apple cider. Bring a blanket and enjoy Disney's The Haunted Mansion projected on our gym wall.
This event is fun for all ages! The cost is $1 per person. Register at the Welcome Center or payment can be made at the door. As a reminder, children must be accompanied by an adult. |
