Aquatic Updates
Improve your Aquatic experience
Aquatic Quick Check
The Hampton Family YMCA cares about your safety and the quality of your experience during your visit to our Aquatic Center. In order for the Hampton Family YMCA to continue the quality that you expect, we invite you to leave your feedback on a daily basis with our Aquatic Center. The quick check cards are posted in the lobby of the Aquatic Center along with the comment box to drop this card with your observations. We appreciate the 30 seconds of feedback that you leave us in order to continue the success of our Aquatic Center. Know the Lifeguards
The Hampton Family YMCA lifeguards do a magnificent job ensuring that you and your family enjoy your time at the pool safely. In order for the lifeguards to improve on this we would like for you to introduce yourself to the lifeguard that is on duty at the time of your visit. On the lifeguard stand you can find the lifeguard's name along with their certifications listed for you to see. Upon introducing yourself we do ask that you and the lifeguard do not engage in a lengthy conversation as they are trained to maintain visual contact with the pool at all time. We are excited to meet you and hope to make your visit a more pleasurable one!
New! Teaching Pool Hours
Bring your family in for some fun in the water for our newly added open swim hours in our Teaching Pool! Open swim is for children 9 years of age and younger with in-water supervision by an adult 18 or older.
Tuesday | 6:00pm - 8:00pm Thursday | 6:30pm - 8:00pm

February is American Heart Month
Q&A for Heart Disease Awareness
If I exercise, will I prevent heart disease? Physical inactivity, along with cigarette smoking, high blood pressure and high blood cholesterol, is one of the major modifiable risk factors for heart attacks. There is no guarantee that you won't get heart disease, but you'll reduce your chance of heart disease if you avoid the risk factors. I have been inactive for years. Shouldn't I see a doctor before I start becoming physically active? People middle-aged or older who are inactive and at high risk for heart disease (or who already have a medical condition) should seek medical advice before they start or significantly increase their physical activity. Most apparently healthy people of any age can safely engage in moderate levels of physical activity (e.g., moderate walking, gardening, yard work) without consulting a doctor first. How much physical activity is enough? If you're inactive, doing anything is better than nothing! Studies show that people who have a low fitness level are much more likely to die early than people who have achieved even a moderate level of fitness. If you want to exceed a moderate level of fitness, you need to exercise for 30 - 60 minutes, on most days of the week, at 50 - 80 percent of your maximum capacity.

10 Questions. 10 Minutes. 1 Positive Impact. The Hampton Family YMCA Encourages You to Participate in the 2010 Census The 2010 Census data will affect how more than $400 billion per year in federal funding is distributed to tribal, state and local governments. Census data guide local planning decisions, including where to provide additional social services, establish child-care and senior centers, and build new roads, hospitals, schools and job training and community centers The census will frame the future of our community and our country for the next 10 years, so it is vital that everyone in the United States be counted in 2010. In March 2010, households across the country will receive the 10-question census form by U.S. mail or hand delivery. Responding immediately to the 2010 Census form is the most efficient way to complete the census. By law, the Census Bureau cannot share respondents' answers with anyone, including other federal agencies and law enforcement entities.
As a Census Bureau partner, the Hampton Family YMCA encourages you to participate in the 2010 Census and let the country know what our community needs for the next 10 years.
