Lowering High Blood Pressure with Hibiscus Tea
High blood pressure is one of the most prevalent issues that physicians help their patients deal with today. It is a major health problem, contributing to heart disease, hardening of the arteries, kidney disease, and can affect multiple other organs.
That's why a recent article in the Internal Medical Journal titled "Treatment of high blood pressure with hibiscus tea" really caught my eye. The article originated from the American Heart Association meeting, and the research was done at the prestigious Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University.

Organic Golden Flax Seeds
Flax seeds are one of the oldest foods known to man. Remnants of flax seeds were found in an excavation in southeastern Turkey dating back to early biblical years. Today, flax seeds are gaining consumer interest because of their high nutrient content.
Flax oil derived from Golden Flax Seeds is one of the highest known vegetarian sources of soluble fiber, magnesium, zinc and linolenic acid (an Omega-3 fatty acid). The Omega-3 content of the oil is typically 52%. Flax seeds also provide protein, mucilage, phytosterols and plant lignans.

Balancing Act: Aerobic exercise with Strength Training
With the summer months beginning to heat up, everyone wants to look and feel their best, but an expensive gym membership is not required to get fit and shed the pounds. In fact, incorporating more exercise into a daily routine along with making simple changes to your diet can yield results without putting a dent in your pocketbook. According to the American College of Sports Medicine, adults ages 18-65 should participate in moderately intense aerobic activity at a raised heart rate for 30 minutes a day, five days a week.

Fourth of July Fun Facts
- One lucky Philadelphian purchased a $4.00 picture at a flea market. What they found behind the picture was an original 1776 printing of the Declaration of Independence. It was sold to TV producer Norman Lear for 8.1 million.
- The stars on the flag were in a circle so that no one colony would be viewed above another. It is reported that George Washington said, "Let the 13 stars in a circle stand as a new constellation in the heavens."
- Every 4th of July the Liberty Bell is tapped - not actually rung.
