High Tide Guide Magazine Cover
Winter Issue

I was super psyched to be on the cover of the High Tide Guide. They did an amazingly flattering write up on me too. I sound so awesome, so very cool... it's suspicious.... almost like I wrote it myself. Read it Here.

Hello Friends,

picture of my head

Hoping this note finds you well and enjoying the freshness of a new year. Lots of changes over here. Hose Headquarters has moved Downtown! We are busy setting up shop in our new home beneath a canopy of spanish moss in historic Brunswick GA. From this location I can hear train whistles, boat whistles and construction worker whistles!
The Gallery that I show my work at
Art Downtown has moved to 1409 Newcastle Street I can walk to it from my house, but I have to pass Jim's Corner Cafe to get there. So i have gained like 100 pounds in breakfast sandwiches, sadly limiting the frequency of construction worker whistles. Arghh! I am working on it. Fortunately I still have a thin skin, and will cry if you look at me crooked. So that's awesome... and a marketable party game. A curious thing has happened in my head the past few months. Without exaggeration I have fallen in LOVE with the color lime green. This sudden onset of affection is so deep and overwhelming that I naturally assumed " I must have a brain tumor "...I don't. ( When I was in the ER with an imaginary heart attack I was assured of this ) I could picture something globulus growing on the "color liking" section of my brain squishing out all the other colors. Lately when I am shopping and something lime green catches my eye, I have heard myself gasp. It's just really not like me to ooh and ahh over a lime green spatula. Sometimes when I am really happy, I see lime green things floating in space on the back of my eyelids. When I can't sleep, I google "lime green things". It entertains me for hours and calms me. Ahhhh..... lime green.... sublime green. This is not a ploy to get you to send me lime green things of substance, but maybe just a reminder to think of me, when you happen upon something unexpectedly lime green. I believe they are messages from magical beings from undiscovered worlds. You can choose to think of them as messages from me."You need more illustration in your life" That's what they are saying. Listen close, it may be hard to understand with their heavy lime green accents.
I am also working hard on a new website to launch in the spring! SO get yer fill of this one cause times they are a changing. www.edhose.com Looking forward to navigating the changes together!

A LANDMARK EVENING
for the United Way

It was my pleasure to design the invitation art for the inaugural opening of the Morgan Center on Jekyll Island This "Tennis attire of the 1929 era" is about the most specific party I have ever drawn a picture for, (except perhaps the "Sausage, Cheese and Mixed Nuts party of 1996" but that was just in my apartment, and didn't benefit any major organization). The above Illustration was auctioned off the night of the event, further supporting the United Way.
See it larger here! Usually when I am drawing, some story unfolds in my head about the relationships between people: who likes who, who's a "B" word, who's more interested in their cake then their date. I had a lot of fun with this drawing and especially enjoyed serving up one lady "pistachio mousse with mint garnish. " I may have invented that concoction, but if it exists, I am certain it's what tennis players ate in 1929.
