HELLO! HELLO!
Go Bulls! Lots of fun stuff going down on Paradise Marsh Circle.. Between writing, drawing, potty training (Ogden Not Me) and learning how to work my new computer things have been really busy! Very excited about a new project that allows me to work with my favorite Uncle in Wikki Watchi Florida. He has written a book for the University of South Florida to be published by a company called Mascot Books, they publish, brace yourself...mascot books, and I have been given the supreme honor of illustrating it. Which means , not only do I get to work with Jeffrey Neil fox of Bucs and Bulls Heaven. But I get to wear these cool bull horns to channel all the sports energy floating in the universe. If I would have known I would be illustrating a book about football, I wouldn't have changed the channel whenever someone got up for a snack!  |
Hose Headquarters is a buzz with activity. We are getting aquainted with our newest resident. A beautiful new Imac we call "Elmer Galaxy Von Applesauce." He moved in last week and shares a room, and a table actually with my elderly computer "Mumble flub Arghhh" (not his real name.) Many thanks to all of those who helped in the sponsoring of this great addition.

Minx is a life coach and author. We have worked on several projects recently. Minx and her writing partner Marsha Lehman have written several books and are totally about empowering women to be their authentic selves.

| IN CASE YOU MISSED IT!
Elegant Island Living Magazine had a great article about 3 local artists... and one of them was me. I was totally famous for the whole month of April. Yes it did go to my head, and yes I am still signing autographs... every time I use my credit card someone asks for my signature. It's embarrassing really. Check it out! And if you at all interested in being my neighbor! Moving to coastal Georgia or Island living in general. This is the magazine you want to subscribe to. It is a stunning magazine that you will want to keep on your coffee table for the sheer pleasure of seeing it. The articles are poignant, creative and despite the fact that I was in the magazine, it is really a very classy publication.

Second Helpings was a success!
Color me Happy Pottery Painting and more opened their doors to provide all the fixin's for a great evening!
With almost 25 participants we painted plates for 5 local families who had recently lost all of their possessions. The families had been devastated in recent months by house fires or they are embarking on a new life after leaving a local womans' shelter. Sparrows Nest, The Red cross , Amity House, all helped in delivering the plates and thoughtfully providing recipients. One participant was inspired to host another second helpings event later this month. SO if you are looking for a nice way to gather with friends, catch up and make a small contribution to the community, this is a creative way to do it! Oh....I also made a truly unscrupulous amount of food for this event. Many thanks to the people who ate it, and to my carnivorous husband who suffered though vegetarian chili for 6 meals in a row.

Dear Tiled and Confused,
You could purchase 50 bags of glass beads from the dollar store, the kind that go in the bottom of a fishbowl, and then you could glue them to your countertop and all around your walls, and then you could fill in the gaps with white grout. Be sure to grab lunch in between applying the grout and removing it, this makes it near impossible to remove and offers you relief from other annoyances by creating an immediate sense of frustration. Plus White grout will give you the best possible insight into how dirty a bathroom can get in a week. If I am not mistaken white grout was actually created in the late 1840s by germaphobes looking for a way to see bacteria with the naked eye.
DEAR ED, Sometimes when I am driving I glance in my rear view mirror and I get stuck, for a second I can't tell which way to drive the car and often steer as if I am taking the turn that I just took only backwards. I have the same problem, wearing spy glasses seems to help. Spy glasses have tiny mirrors on the sides which allow you to see behind you while looking ahead, this will work to counteract if you are looking in front of you at a mirror facing behind you, you will simultaneously be looking behind you at what is in front of you. Worth the investment but if you are on a budget, aluminum foil wrapped around a sunvisor works just as well.
