Tannery Use for Fun
$29 to Florida
Greetings!

With snow prepared to fly, the city is prepared with 1,500 tons of additional rock salt. Also, ice rink opens tonight and use of the old tannery property.
Police Station a go

Police buildingDespite delays and the rejection of one bidding process, the City
Commission voted to build a new 17,000 square foot police station at the corner of 17th & Greenup.

How do we afford this? The bonds on the Town Center Mall mature and expire in January of 2009. This will free $340,000 a year to service the debt on this needed project.

Pass The Salt

Rock SaltAshland is well prepared for a cold winter ahead. The city commission recently voted to purchase 1,500 tons of rock salt from the Morton Salt Co., at a cost of $99.61 a ton.

Think that is expensive? Next low bidder was $208.65 per ton.

Generally speaking, road crews start with main streets first and works to neighborhoods.

Backstage Players
Peach
Backstage Players, the youth drama group founded in 1991, will present James & the Giant Peach at the Paramount December 11th & 12th.

Based on the classic children's novel by Rhoald Dahl, James and the Giant Peach is the story of James Henry Trotter and his incredible journey with his insect friends aboard a giant peach. This wonderful dramatization brings Dahl's story to life with laughter, fantasy and a clever message about the balance between being wicked and being good.
