Area Home Market Slow, But Not Scary
Sales so far are down over '07. But it's too early, experts say, for data to show a trend.

Sales in the Philadelphia region of both new and existing homes were significantly slower in January and February than they were at the start of last year, continuing a trend that began in mid-2006.
In the seven suburban counties, combined net new-home sales were almost 38 percent lower than in the same months in 2007, according to data collected by Hanley Wood Market Intelligence, which tracks sales nationally. (There are no comparable new-home data for the city because Hanley Wood has been tracking Philadelphia sales for less than a year.) More...

| HBA & Suburban West Happy Hour
Volunteer Leadership and Staff from the HBA of Chester/Delaware Counties and the Suburban West REALTORS Association met last week to discuss ways for the associations to work more cooperatively. The group has tentatively scheduled a Joint Happy Hour, Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern. Details to follow.

19th Annual Pyramid Awards
The Pyramid Awards are set for Thursday, April 24, 2008 at the beautiful Drexelbrook in Drexel Hill. The format will be exciting and different this year with a 2-hour Cocktail Party including Gourmet Food Stations providing elegant dinner selections, followed by the Awards Presentation in a theatre-style setting. |
