NEWS

New Remodelers Regulations 
 
On March 31, 2008, EPA issued a rule requiring the use of lead-safe practices and other actions aimed at preventing lead poisoning. Under the rule, beginning in April 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.
HBA & Suburban West Happy Hour 
Volunteer Leadership and Staff from the HBA of Chester/Delaware Counties and the Suburban West REALTORS Association met last week to discuss ways for the associations to work more cooperatively. The group has tentatively scheduled a Joint Happy Hour, Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern. Details to follow.
 
Marple Reviews Development Plan

MARPLE - Part II of the Pulte hearing resulted in a five-hour, resident-centered review of the proposed development on Old Marple Road.

The national builder received preliminary approval from the commissioners in September 2005 to construct 58 townhouses and 160 condominiums on the 34.8-acre parcel.

The decision included 26 conditions and Pulte subsequently submitted documentation demonstrating its adherence to the stipulations. The developer was notified it had satisfied 22 of the conditions and attorney Marc Kaplan addressed the outstanding items last month regarding PennDOT approval, blasting, landscaping and the emergency access road.
