Fantastic Fall Events! TODAY: Forklift Fundraiser at Franklin's Haven't been out to eat in a while? Here's a great reason to go: this Monday, Sept. 19th, participate in the Forklift Fundraiser at Franklin's Restaurant & Brewery. Have a drink or a meal between 11am - 9:30pm. Then, bring your receipt to the hostess, and they'll donate 20% of the total to us! Franklin's is very close to Community Forklift, at 5121 Baltimore Ave. in Hyattsville, MD. Their food is mouthwatering, especially their seasonal specials and the bread pudding.
Monday Oct. 10th Happy Hour Join us from 5-8pm for Community Forklift Happy Hour at the The Passenger. 10% of the bar proceeds will go to us, so you can enjoy their famous cocktails, while supporting your favorite cause! Near the DC Convention Center at 1021 7th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.
Saturday, Oct. 22nd Forklift Fundraising Extravaganza
Surely you don't expect the 'Lift to hold a boring banquet or demure dessert night? It's gonna be our wildest party yet, featuring: The DC Lady Arm Wrestlers, Eat Wonky food truck, DJ One HeART Muzik, a silent auction, & adult beverages!
Luckily the Community Forklift warehouse can hold a lot of people, because it will be packed! Standing-room tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. There are also a limited number of $25 ringside seats. Click here to purchase advance tickets. Credit cards will be accepted for the food truck & silent auction - but if you want to partake in betting or beverages, you'll need to bring cash!
We need silent auction prizes!
For info on sponsorships, volunteering, or to donate a silent auction item, contact Christine McCoy at recyclegal(at)hotmail.com, or 202-246-0163.
Big thanks to the people making this possible:

If you were a dog, would you wag your tail a lot?
If you are a friendly, outgoing person, we sure could use your help this fall (and don't forget: to thank you for your volunteer time, you'll recieve $5/hour in store credit).
1) We need you at a bunch of festivals! You'd be talking about Community Forklift and handing out info about local recycling & donation options. Fall festivals are always a blast, with beautiful weather, good music, and yummy food (We especially need help on next Saturday, Sept. 24th, when we will be exhibiting at the Barracks Row Festival in Southeast DC and the Green Living Expo at UDC Plaza and North Brentwood Day near Community Forklift). For more details, see our calendar.
If you can help, please contact Ruthie(at)CommunityForklift.com or 301-904-7579. If this will be your first time volunteering with us, we'll give you a 30-minute orientation beforehand (to be scheduled at your convenience).

2) Our big fall fundraising extravaganza is October 22nd, and we need help prizes for the silent auction! If you're willing to call or visit local businesses to ask for gift certificates or prizes, please contact RecycleGal(at)gmail.com or 202-246-0163.
3) We are also looking for a volunteer to help with clerical fundraising tasks (the time commitment is about eight hours per month). Check out the job description for details.

Thank you, donors!
Our donations team would like to thank our wonderful donors. Not only have you been supplying us with the building materials that are Community Forklift's lifeblood,
but many of you have been chipping in for gas.
With a 24-foot box truck, gas prices really take a bite out of our budget. Your financial support makes it possible to keep our pickup service running, and you should know that we appreciate every little bit!

********* Partner of the month:
Architectural Ceramic

Community Forklift has been working hard lately to establish stronger relationships with new and established donors by providing them more recognition via our website, our warehouse, and our monthly newsletter. One of the first companies to establish themselves as a new and continuing Community Forklift donor, Architectural Ceramics, is our featured partner for September (read more about the partnership program here).
Established in 1983 by Larry & Betty Sullivan, Architectural Ceramics is a tile supplier with stores throughout the DC Metro region. The company offers an extensive product line in ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, slate, marble, limestone, and glass and metal tiles, with more than 25,000 samples from which to choose.
To find out how to become a sponsoring partner of Community Forklift, please contact our Materials Acquisitions Manager, Christine McCoy, at 202-246-0163 or RecycleGal(at)
