Strong enrollment for the new year!CTS All School Pic FALL 2011

CTS Students, Faculty and Staff - September 2011

We thank God for a strong enrollment this fall. Our new students nearly replaced the large number of graduates who left in June. How does that saying go? "You can count the seeds in an apple...but you cannot count the apples in a seed." I thought of that saying this fall as we welcomed our new group of students to CTS. God alone knows the potential in each of these lives that have come from around the world to prepare for ministry at CTS. We have had an enjoyable first couple of months getting to know them and we are grateful that God has brought them here. Along with their studies, and being involved in a local church ministry each week, many of our students must also hold down a job and juggle family responsibilities all at the same time. Their effort and sacrifice is humbling at times. We know though that God is already using them each week to touch lives in many churches throughout Belgium and France!

Missions Convention 2011 - with special guests!

Darrel and Gail with Ben, Nathan and Laura

A highlight of each fall semester is our Missions Convention. This year was even more special for us as we had the privilege of welcoming my brother and his wife, Darrel and Gail Johnsen - pastors of Faith Assembly in Pasco, Washington as our guest speakers. Both Darrel and Gail spoke multiple times during the convention and they were a blessing to many!  The theme this year was "Committed".  We were challenged to remain committed to God's call on our lives in whatever form that may take.  It is always a paradigm shifting experience as we consider Missions in the context of the CTS student body. With their incredibly diverse backgrounds and giftings, as they seek God for direction and consider missions - their possibilities are endless.

Itineration - Coming home in 2012
It is hard to believe that nearly four years have passed since we returned to Belgium.  But it is true! We are planning to return the U.S. for our scheduled year of itineration beginning in JUNE 2012. We are looking forward to reconnecting with family, friends and supporters.  We are now scheduling meetings beginning in July 2012 until July 2013.  Please contact us as soon as possible if you would like to schedule us to share our ministry with your church, Bible study or life group.  We would love the chance to see you and share what God is doing in Europe.
...life at our house...

It feels like I am always writing about the changes in our family...but then I guess...I am. Change seems to define life with children doesn't it? Laura is nearly 11 months old now and has already taken her first steps. She loves our dog Sam (the feeling is mutual) and she is certain to be his best friend in the years to come. Ben and Nathan began kindergarten in September. We are happy to have found a French speaking Christian school in Brussels about 20 minutes from our home. After being in preschool here also, they are now very comfortable conversing in French and enjoy going to school each day.

THANK YOU for taking a few moments to catch up with us. We appreciate your friendship, prayers and support. We would love to hear from you and look forward to seeing many of you in the coming year!

God Bless You!
