| Upcoming Events
History Month, Yard Sale, Art Walk |
August is Lake City History Month - celebrating 135 years of settlement! Pick up a schedule of events at the Visitor's Center or view here Some businesses are participaintg by displaying historic tools (Blue Spruce) or offering special tours (Hard Tack Mine) or hosting book signings (Western Reflections). Consider putting a special "historical" item on your menu (the recipe, not the ingredients!) ... or dusting off those historical photos and hanging them for the month ... or taking the time to enjoy these events with your guests, your friends, and your family (attend the Alferd Packer Trial re-enactment or the Echoes on the Boardwalk play or enjoy birhtday cake in the park or visit the new Transportation display at the Museum). What a great month!
The Town Wide Yard Sale is July 18th. To be listed on the map is $5. To be on the map, download this form and send it to the DIRT office (Box 973) along with the fee. Business advertisements are available on the map for $25 (limited space). Contact DIRT if you are a business and would like to advertise on the map. The Town Wide Yard Sale brings a lot of folks to town. Consider hosting a sidewalk sale or having a "treasure-seekers or bargain-hunters" special.
Lake City DIRT is hosting its third Art Walk & Auction. Three-dimensional deer have been artistically decorated and will be auctioned in early August. To have one placed in your business (and be on the map), contact DIRT.

| Third Street Market Makes the Denver Post
Mention in the Travel Section |

Our repeated press releases are paying off! The Denver Post ran the announcement about the Third Street Market open-air artisans market in Historic Lake City. There are several new vendors this year. Stop by and say hello - on Saturdays (10 am to 2 pm) and on Wednesdays (12 noon to 2 pm), an optional day that vendors are allowed to set up. |
