DIRT Update
Economic Development Summit
Wrap-Up and Your Ideas

On May 15, Lake City DIRT hosted its second annual Economic Development Summit.  The keynote presentation was hosted by Jennifer Joyce of True North Program, breakout session provided by Rhona Keckler of Region 10 Enterprise Zone, and afternoon conversations hosted by Laura Elm, Michael DeLillo, and Marilyn Laverty.

What factors would allow your business to participate in future summits and trainings? A different time of the year? Varying topics?  What are your suggestions?

Provide us with your thoughts.  Thanks especially to DIRT's Economic Restructuring committee and Michelle Pierce for coordination.

Kid-Friendly Publication
Thank you to the Pioneer Jubilee Women's Club
The Pioneer Jubilee Women's Club provided funding for the publication called "Lake City - a Kid-Friendly Town".  This booklet provides helpful hints for families, local kid-friendly activities, and children's activities.  The publication is available online as well as at the Visitor's Center and at local businesses.  Pair it with a basket of crayons and provide hours - or at least twenty minutes - worth of entertainment for families.  To request copies, contact DIRT
