The theme for National Volunteer Week (April 19-25, 2009) is "Celebrating People in Action." This week honors the individuals who dedicate themselves to taking action and solving problems in their communities.
To me, community is synonymous with volunteerism. And nowhere is this more apparent than in Lake City, Colorado. Year-round residents, part-time residents, and repeat visitors roll-up-their-sleeves, time after time, and pitch in to help our community help itself.
A resounding thank you to all volunteers for your dedication and involvement in community service.
With this bright, springtime weather, I think I'll head down and see what Russ Brown needs help with ... I'm sure there's some work downtown to do. See you there, Kristie Borchers Lake City DIRT
