A big community-wide thank you to Danielle Worthen who embodies Lake City's "pitch-in-and-help" spirit.  The recent Wine & Music Festival went smoothly, primarily because of Danielle's organization, leadership, and years of commitment to this event and its cause (Prostate Cancer Awareness).

In addition to key work on the nonprofit Uncorked Group, Danielle is an active member of PTSA and oversees the Hot Lunch Program; volunteers for the San Juan Solstice 50; participates in bellydancing performances for the community; sits on the Lodging Tax Board; serves as an Advisor for the Lake Fork Land Trust; and co-owns Hall Realty.

Danielle, your enthusiasm is contagious and we appreciate all your work!

Don't miss this show!
The live performance is an original Americana hootenanny!  Kort McCumber knows, writes, plays and sings good songs - steeped in tradition, honed over a musical lifetime and brought to life in the present.  Americana at its best, equal parts folk, country blues and bluegrass with a healhty dose of something fresh.  Good songs well rendered.

Lake City DIRT has much to celebrate - over 700 feet of new boardwalk, beautiful gardens, an open-air market, a community Youth Corps, incremental progress towards a stronger rural community, and thousands of hours of volunteer work engaged in the four-point approach for historic preservation and economic revitalization.

As we enter Year 5, Lake CIty DIRT is hoping to raise $5,000 in private donations to support our economic and community development efforts.  Our goal is to leverage your donation 10:1.

The current economic climate makes us all pause, consider expenditures and choose those causes we can continue to support.  We encourage you to consider a donation as an investment in our community.

Thank you for your consideration.

Respectfully,

Kristie Borchers
