The past year has been an exciting one in Historic Downtown Lake City .... over 530 feet of new boardwalk was built, a Community Youth Corps program began, and more than 4,000 volunteer hours were contributed to the revitalization and historic preservation of our community.
Looking ahead to 2008 - a year of plans!
- A two-year Plan has set the strategic direction for Lake City DIRT.
- Colorado Center for Community Development is working with us to reflect our ideas for downtown design.
- Downtown Professionals Network is conducting an Economic Feasibility Study to identify ways to strengthen and further promote a year-round economy in the Lake City area.
- The Leadership and Management program of the Community Resource Center will be a year-long coaching and mentoring program for Lake City DIRT, thanks to the Anschutz Family Foundation.
- Merchandizing and promotion will be emphasis areas for a springtime visit from CCRA (Colorado Community Revitalization Assocation).
In addition to all this planning work, we have a whole plate of revitalization and historic preservation activities going on! On behalf of Lake City DIRT's Board of Directors, we offer a resounding thank you to our volunteers. Here's to a successful 2008, for our community and for you and your family and friends.
