This month I'd like to tell you about a new addition to our arsenal of diagnostic tools. It is called ViziLite Plus and it helps in the detection of oral cancer. ViziLite Plus offers an easy and non-invasive technique for diagnosing cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions in their early stages. |

Each time you come to the office for your periodic examination, we do a visual and manual oral cancer screening. Now, with ViziLite Plus, we have the ability to find possible problems in the earliest stages when the cure rate is much higher.
Once a year, you will be asked to rinse your mouth with a solution that allows lesions to be seen using a special light. Any lesion that is detected with the light is then swabbed with a blue dye. Abnormal cells absorb the dye, leaving a visible blue area that can be seen with the naked eye. |
