New Workshop: Lights, Camera, Action: Creating Movies with Green Screens    (One Grad. Credit Available)

June 15  8:30-3:30 | $149 CSD member | $189 non-member

Are you interested in creating news reports or videos similar to what you see on TV or YouTube? Would you like to "film-on-location" without actually traveling to the location to film? Expand the use of videos and images in your lessons! In this fun-filled, action packed workshop we will transform everyone into 21st century filmmakers. Bring your laptop, digital cameras, flip cameras, smart phones or other mobile devices and we will show you how. You will work with others to create digital movies by experiencing the process of the pre-production, production and post-production phases of filmmaking with chroma key (a green screen). Choose a free online resource or one of three easy (and free) software programs to use: Windows MovieMaker (PC), iMovie (Mac), or PhotoStory 3 (PC).  Bring a curricular topic, historical event or story to share, or select from one provided.

This is a BYOD workshop. Participants must have basic knowledge of the devices they bring, and should also bring necessary cords and the manual to their device(s).

BYOD Friendly!

In the tele- (technology enhanced learning environment), you'll learn how to use technology tools & how to integrate them into your classroom and lesson plans at the same time! Come try out our cross platform computer lab- the tele is equipped with computers that use Windows and Macintosh operating systems. You'll have the option of working either on a PC or Mac for any class. Or, if you'd like, bring your own device (BYOD!) and work from your very own computer, or a tablet or iPad.
