Guest Speaker Franklin Brown, A.I.A., LEED AP, REFP Mr. Brown has worked with the Ohio School Facilities Commission since its founding in 1997. As a Project Administrator for the OSFC, he administered approximately $1/2 billion in school construction in the northeast quadrant of Ohio and currently functions as a Director of Planning. In addition, he currently serves as President of the Ohio Chapter of the Council of School Facilities Planners, International.
What is a green school?

school building or facility that provides a healthy environment,
conducive to learning while saving energy, resources, and money.
Why learn more about green schools?
- Green
schools on average save $100,000 per year--enough to hire 2 new
teachers, buy 500 new computers, or purchase 5000 new textbooks.
- Use 30-50% less energy than conventional schools, which lowers utility bills
- On average, students attending green schools increase test scores by 20-24%
