Happy Winter from the Sandwich Mothers Club

Next  Monthly Meeting is Tuesday, February 23rd at 6:30 pm!

Note from our President

We hope you are finding plenty of Cape Cod fun to keep you busy this winter.  Our board has once again been hard at work trying to meet the needs of our growing and changing membership.  We hope this late winter newsletter has something for everyone - the wee ones, the big kids and the Moms!  Additionally, we are so excited to have some new Moms plan some field trips this month - thanks to Anissa Graff and Barb Noble for stepping up!  Please know that if you have any ideas for the club or would like to plan an activity, please don't hesitate to let the board know.  The more volunteers we have in action, the more we can offer our membership!

I am thrilled to announce that Susan Nolan of Peaceful Pursuits will be our meeting speaker on Tuesday, February 23rd at the Riverview School.  Susan will speak on the topic of self-care for busy Moms. She will discuss health, wellness, reflection and taking time for ourselves.  Susan will also lead us through a guided meditation and relaxation.  Please wear comfortable clothes and enjoy some time for yourself.  Social hour and activity sign ups will begin at 6:30 and Susan will speak from 7:15 - 8.  For more information on Peaceful Pursuits visit http://www.peacefulpursuits.net/

And lastly, it's the time of year when we start to consider changes ahead for our Board of Directors for the next year.  We have several positions that will be available beginning this June.  Please contact me or any current board member if you would like more information on becoming a board member for the Sandwich Mothers Club next year.  We need you!

Hope to see you all out and about this winter!

"Pre-Writers Pen-Pal Group"
We all know how much our children love sending and especially receiving mail.  Join in our "Pre-Writers Pen-Pal" group geared for ages 2-5 years old.  We will have a kick off field trip to the Sandwich Post Office in February.  Children will get a behind the scene peek at the world of mail.  Then children will be paired up based on age, depending on how many children participate.  Each pair will send each other a "letter" once a month for the months of March , April & May.  We will conclude our group with a Pen Pal picnic in June.

Please contact Anissa Graff for more details or to register for this fun and exciting activity!

The Zookeeper's Wife
 Diane Ackerman

A war story unlike any other. A narrative about a Warsaw animal keeper who saves hundreds of Jews from Nazi gas chambers draws inevitable comparisons with Schindler's List, but Ackerman's artful, almost lyrical book occupies a genre of her own invention.
