GIVING TREE
Last year's giving tree was such a great success that the SMC will once again be helping out local families in need.
Pick an ornament off the Giving Tree at our November meeting, purchase and wrap a gift for a child or family in need.
If you can not attend the November meeting, please email Freea to select a virtual ornament. All gifts need to be purchased, wrapped and dropped off to Freea by December 2nd so that they can be distributed to families in time for the holidays. |

| Note from our President
With the school year well underway, soccer and football coming to a close, and Halloween upon us, we find ourselves digging out winter hats and holiday recipes. It is so very hard to imagine that we are sending you a completed copy of our November/December Newsletter! Our Board of Directors and Activity Planners have been hard at work trying to create a perfect balance of old SMC favorites and unique activities to keep you coming back!
Please join us at one of our many activities including our quarterly meeting on Tuesday, November 3rd at 7pm at the Riverview School in East Sandwich. Our featured speaker Joanne Audyatis is talking all about maintaining healthy relationships while raising a family.
A reminder to renew your membership if you haven't already. All members that have not renewed will be removed from the google group and constant contact list before the Thanksgiving holiday.
I continue to feel amazed by the wonderful SMC volunteers that create new opportunities to establish support and friendships through motherhood. Wonderful examples include Amanda Kundell chair of the New Member Committee, Beth Brazil of The SMC Support Group, and Stephany Alves of Multiples Support Group. The more each member contributes, the stronger our membership and organization will remain. Ideas? Thoughts? Opinions? Please don't hesitate to get involved!
I look forward to sharing this journey of motherhood with you.

 Wine Tasting at The Brown Jug

Like most of us, we ejnoy a good glass of wine, but how many of us know the true difference between, say, a cabernet and a merlot? Well, here is your chance to find out that, and more.
For $20 per person, we will taste a variety of wines, sample deliciously paired cheeses and receive our own wine "cheat sheet" to take home from the event.

The Discovery Center follows the Sandwich Public School Calendar. There will be no afternoon playgroup on the In-Service days of Sept.24th or Oct. 29th.
Saturday, October 31st- 8:30-12:30: Upper Cape Early Childhood Conference
A treat for the grown-ups, this event for parents and professionals comes just in time to help you through the post-holiday sugar blues! Registration forms available in the Discovery Center.
