WorldCanvass takes to the high seas July 20
On July 20, WorldCanvass will embark on a high-seas adventure with a behind-the-scenes look at the UI Opera Theatre production

Sushi Workship wins UI Program Award

Say yes to sushi!
Congratulations to the Mayflower Sushi Workshop for winning the 2012 Best Educational Program of the Year Award. Led by Yume Hikada, the event drew over 100 participants who, along with their sushi, made cards to be sent to children in Japan still suffering the aftermath of the 2011 earthquake/tsunami.

Global literacy coming to the classroom
The Global Education Summer Institute for Teachers, a professional development opportunity for educators across Iowa, was held June 11-13, 2012, on the UI campus. This unique program focused on equipping teachers with the tools they need to prepare their students for all things international - from cultural communication to global issues and markets.

Dean's blog: Invest in Asia
